MerlotIt's the ultimate quaffing red, is merlot. It's historically used to round out the big wines of Bordeaux, but it was so good at that, people used it on its own too! At its best, Merlot makes gloriously sultry, velvety, opulent wines; it's a real Barry White of a variety. Very few make old bones, but who cares, when it's so good young? |
