Shiraz Blends

This section was created as homage to shiraz's remarkable ability to blend with almost anything! Although it meets its classical partners in grenache and mourvedre in Chateauneuf du Pape, and also sometimes the white viognier in Cote Rotie, it can morph itself to suit almost anything, it seems. Perhaps, then, this section should be seen as more of a wine style; a dry but soft, full-bodied, juicy, peppery, opulent style that shiraz seems to lend to so many of its mutations. Old world will tend towards ruggedness and structure, new world to juice and jam, but the principle remains the same; lots of body, width richness, and plenty of alcohol too!
