TempranilloTempranillo is Spain's sangiovese; it travels across the country and appears as many clones in many styles. Its true home, of course, is Rioja, where combined with old american oak it provided one of the few serious ripostes to the hegemony of Bordeaux as the worlds finest wine region. It was the same people making the wine, in fact, hopping over the Pyrenees! Remondo and Murrieta represent tradiational, great, estates that are reinvented; both have allied fresh approaches to great heritage, to immense effect. |
